Incense comes from the dried resin of Boswellia trees, also called olibanum or frankincense, and smells smoky, dry and resinous, with a faint lemony freshness. Perfumers use incense in the heart and base to add a cool, smoky dryness. It pairs with myrrh, labdanum, woods and rose, and brings a calm, resinous depth to sweet or floral compositions.
